What Does SAPPHIC Mean? Sapphic vs. Lesbian

Both "sapphic" and "lesbian" have their roots from Sappho, the famous Ancient Greek poet who used to live in the Greek island of Lesbos.

Both "lesbian" and "sapphic" point to WLW or women-loving-women, with "lesbian" specifically referring to a woman who is EXCLUSIVELY attracted to women while "sapphic" is an adjective that describes a woman that’s attracted to women,  and is a culture reference. But what is the main difference?
